“Hope is in His Hands”

Picture of Hope

Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone. Psalm 33:22 (NLT)

Bonnie and I were getting ready to leave for lunch with the family. “Before we go,” Bonnie said, “I’m concerned about Dewi. I want to send her a quick text”

What follows are the texts between Bonnie and Dewi. [The texts have been reformatted for ease of reading.]

Bonnie:
Blessings, Dewi.😇 We’re all doing great‼️
How are YOU doing?? We’ve been concerned about your work responsibilities & safety. Lotsa prayers & talks with Jesus🥰
Praying that Kris, Hope & Emily are feeling God’s presence moment by moment😇

All our love,
Pop Pop & Granny

For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. Psalm 91:11

Dewi:
Praise God; you’re doing great. We’re in good shape too. Just feeling fatigue, nothing else. It must’ve been from work. [Dewi works as a nurse in a Covid-19 unit.]

At one point we had to open another unit to accommodate hospitalized Covid patients. Last week, we started see things get better. We closed that extra unit as the number of hospitalized went down.

I hope that means something works. For sure, prayers do. 🙏 Thanks for all your prayers. I always think about you. The girls grow bigger every day. You’ll be surprised when you meet them again. Sending lots of hugs and kisses 😘🤗💕

Speaking of God’s presence, He sure is with us. A few weeks ago, Hope almost ran into a passing train. If not because of God’s hand rescuing her, she would’ve been injured, or gone. I have goosebumps every time I think of it. Thank you, Jesus. 🙏🙏 Again. I feel your prayers.

Bonnie:
I have goosebumps too‼️
Thank you, Jesus😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏

When we returned home from lunch, Bonnie was able to send the family a text that told “the rest of the story.”

Bonnie:
Great day today‼️
Soooo good to be with you all🥰 Remember the story I told you about Dewi and her daughter Hope? Dewi just texted us the details of what happened…God is ever- present…all the time‼️

YAHOO😇🙏🙏🙏

Dewi’s text:
What happened was we were taking a stroll in our complex. I was carrying Emily and Hope was riding her balance bike. She’s getting good at it. She likes to speed as she becomes more confident.

Then we heard the signal that a train was coming. Our house is by the train track, so we hear it all the time. But this time when she heard it, all of sudden, she took off with her bike, saying “Mommy, I’m going to catch the choo choo train”.  I said no but she kept going. I was running as fast as I could with Emily on my arm, but she’s too fast. I was screaming as I heard the train getting closer, begging her to stop. But nobody was around. I cried, “Jesus save her! It’s out of my hand.”

Then, I saw her in front of the gate with her bike and a man running after her from across the street and picked her up. A few seconds later. the train passed. That man jumped out from his car in a split second when he saw Hope ready to cross the gate.

One more time God shows that He is good, and Hope is in His hands.

We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20

Blessings,
